Sky's The Limit Tree Services provides the following services to commercial and residential clients
Arboricultural Services
Root Pruning
Root pruning is a specialised service sometimes necessary to prevent or correct damage to infrastructure. If done incorrectly it can be devastating to the health and/or stability of the tree. Our arborists ensure your tree is kept safe when performing this delicate procedure.
Cabling, Bracing and Propping
Bracing is often used when issues arise in trees with high value or significance, or can be utilised as part of a long-term pruning plan. The tree may have a structural defect or other health issue which requires bracing to prolong the useful life of the tree. Cables are installed between key limbs within the canopy to spread and transfer loads to stronger parts of the tree. Bracing can last as long as 10-15 years. We use only the best materials and most current installation for all our tree support systems.
Habitat Creation
Habitat installations are used to attract wildlife to your garden and provide invaluable safety and nesting sites for native wildlife. We have worked with clients to install artificial habitats that blend into the surroundings and can provide permanent homes for the animals you want to have around. We can make habitats in dead trees which otherwise have little habitat value.

consulting arborists
We provide professional advice backed by years of experience on many different sites and internationally recognised qualifications in arboriculture. We are AQF Level 5 arborists that are actively involved in maintaining up-to-date information in this constantly evolving industry. We ensure we are up-to-date with the latest education, techniques and equipment and upskill and update our qualifications to ensure we are current with the latest advances in the industry.
Tree Risk Assessments
Trees provide various amenity values, but with these benefits come varying degrees of risk. Tree Risk Assessments can be conducted on trees at varying degrees to suit the situation. Our qualified arborists assess the tree to identify potential hazards depending on their species profile, overall health, defects, site conditions, history, and other detailed investigations if required. Tree Risk Assessments help you to have a better understanding of the threat the tree may pose to people and property, and they also provide you with mitigation options to reduce these risks. We have conducted many inspections with professional arborist reports across the entire Mid North Coast, encompassing many varieties of trees in many differing environments.
Arborist Reports
Our AQF5 consulting arborist can provide professional arborist reports on all field work and investigations that can be used in Development Applications, formal condition reports, risk assessments, specifications for advanced tree work and planning and design guidelines. When engaging an arboriculture company, ensure they are a qualified AQF5 arborist with full comprehensive insurances. Arborist reports can only be carried out by AQF5 arborists.
Arboricultural Impact Assessment
These assessments are generally required by Port Macquarie Hastings Council when a proposed development will impact the existing trees on site. Our AQF5 arborist will assess the retention values of the trees based on the development plans. This report is then submitted to Council with your development application (DA). A poorly conducted Arboricultural Impact Statement can cause substantial delays with your development, so be sure to utilise our experienced arborists to get your DA approved and on track as smoothly as possible.
Tree Health
There are many reasons that trees can begin to decline, and we can give you the best advice concerning your tree and it’s surrounding environment. Utilising a range of observation techniques and our substantial education and experience, we will determine why the tree is suffering, and provide you with a range of treatment options. Our team can then carry out the works on your trees to give them the best chance of survival and mitigate any possible risks as best as possible. We can also provide valuable advice on how to maintain healthy trees in your garden. We provide all our findings a clear and easy to understand arborist report.
Tree Management Plans
We conduct tree management plans across the entire Mid North Coast region. If your project requires an expert plan on how to manage tree assets, we are able to assist and provide the advice and planning for your project.
Project Arborists
We regularly manage tree works on commercial sites throughout Port Macquarie, Laurieton, Wauchope and around the Hastings/Camden Haven region. Due to our extensive experience in the practical side of tree management we are able to direct tree cutting crews to conduct works in accordance with development or plan requirements, as well as educate and monitor construction crews to ensure no damage is sustained to trees over the course of the development and beyond. This ensures you achieve the expected outcome and may be stipulated as a requirement as a part of an approved development.
Tree Investigations
Our consulting AQF5 arborist can perform a range of testing on trees if visual inspections are not conclusive. We can conduct root investigations, aerial inspections, Ph testing of soil and other investigations where necessary. If you require conclusive data on a valuable tree asset be sure to contact our term for an obligation free quotation on your project.

stump grinding
Stump Grinding
Grinding stumps is the most cost-effective way to remove stumps from the soil. After grinding, the chip is used to fill in the hole to help level the ground.
If you require the removal of an old stump or to finish off a fresh tree removal, our equipment is able to get the job done. Our stump grinder is a self-propelled Dosko, able to access tight areas and operated by our experienced staff. We can grind to a depth of up to 300mm if required, and we conduct grinding over the entire Hastings and Camden Haven area, including Laurieton, Wauchope, Port Macquarie, Dunbogan, Kew, Kendall, Lorne and beyond.
Root Pruning
When tree roots are interfering with a structure or development, it may be necessary to prune the roots back and install root barriers to prevent damage to infrastructure. This can be a delicate job as roots provide anchorage for trees. It is important to have qualified and experienced arborists undertaking this task to make sure the tree remains stable. Contact us for root pruning and mitigation services.

tree removal
We can remove trees in virtually any situation. With a skilled team of climbers and ground crew, we handle all aspects of tree removal. We complete the job safely and within the time frame, whilst adhering to our client’s requirements.
tree pruning
Pruning is the most important task undertaken during the lifecycle of a tree. Correct pruning can improve shape, health, safety, and value of your tree. Pruning must be conducted in accordance to a plan that takes into account the species, location, soil attributes, and expectations for the life of the tree.
Our arborists are experts at helping you establish pruning objectives to avoid irreversible damage to your valuable trees. Before you prune your tree, talk to one of our arborists. We prune to Australian Standard 4373 Pruning of Amenity Trees, and follow best industry practice.
Structural Pruning
Structural pruning is undertaken to remove defects or potential defects from trees. If a tree has poor structural pruning it will become costly and pose a greater risk of failure upon maturity. Many trees are removed that could have been retained if the correct structural pruning had been undertaken during establishment. This is the most common type of pruning we undertake.
Formative Pruning
This type of pruning is for those that want to get the most out of their trees. Many trees require formative pruning within the first year of establishment. Our arborists have a good understanding of the natural shape of many tree species and can prune your trees with this in mind.
Palm Pruning
In many cases, removing dead fronds and seed pods from palms is an annual task. Once your palms have grown past the limit of your ladder this can become a dangerous job. We have the equipment to prune all types of palms safely without leaving the all-too common spike marks in the trunks which do not grow over.
Deadwood Removal
Removing dead and dying branches is a task that is essential for maintaining tree safety and appearance. While not all trees would require this kind of attention, trees situated in high traffic areas or backyards should be kept free of deadwood. Even deadwood less than 20mm in diameter can cause injury if it falls from height. We conduct pruning all over Port Macquarie, Laurieton, Lorne, Kendall, Wauchope, Bonny Hills and Lake Cathie.

Tree Recycling
Environmental stewardship is a core responsibility for Sky's The Limit Trees and also forms a part of our comprehensive mandatory pre-work checks.
We have included important aspects of our environmental responsibilities into our integrated management system to ensure we mitigate environmental risks. Environmental sustainability is of the utmost importance to us, and all by-products from our tree management work are recycled into high value environmentally sustainable products like wood chip for garden mulch, composted aged mulch for soil building or timber slabs and logs for home and furniture construction. We also return by-products to the soil in our regenerative agroforestry farm in Herons Creek, as well as re-planting hundreds of trees and other vegetation. Habitat creation is yet another way we support our incredible local fauna, either by installing custom made habitat boxes, nesting platforms for Sea Eagles or hollow creation into stumps.
